‘Coaches in Kilts’ Summer Camps

Trans-Atlantic Soccer’s ‘Coaches in Kilts’ camps are the perfect way
for young players to maximize their soccer skill development in a safe, fun and friendly environment. Not only are our coaches extremely well-qualified (with at least five years experience as professional coaches), they are committed to ensuring your child has the best possible soccer experience during their time at camp.
Players are grouped on age and ability on the first day of camp and each session is uniquely tailored to ensure every child is challenged at exactly the right level.
During the Camp players will become a member of a Scottish Clan and will take part in Highland Games-themed competitions. Games include welly wanging, tossing the caber, tug-of-war and an all camp capture the flag. The Inter-Clan Soccer Tournament sees the end of the competitions, with the winning clan lifting the coveted TAS “Clan Cup”.

The age and ability groups within the ‘Coaches in Kilts’ skills camp are as follows:
Pocket Rocket
Generally for our 5 and 6 year olds, this group focuses on nurturing individual skill, as well as personal and social development, with the emphasis on FUN!
We realize that this will often be a child’s first experience of a camp environment and coaches will ensure each child gets into the fun loving spirit from day one. The re-assuring learning atmosphere and perfect blend of soccer, games and Scottish culture motivates the players to continue playing soccer.
Intermediate
Generally for our 7 to 9 year olds, this group aims to refine and develop players’ individual skill in increasingly sophisticated drills and practices. Game-related practices also allow fundamental skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing and control to be mastered in a semi-pressurized environment, giving players confidence to replicate their skills on game-day.
Advanced Skills
Generally for our children ages 10 +, the focus of the Advanced group is to develop players’ technical skills and game awareness. Small-sided games (predominantly 4v4) are used frequently to ensure every player has as much contact with the ball as possible in competitive situations.
